Rene’ Batsford has over 17 years experience in the Retail, Manufacturing and Entertainment Industries. Specializing in evolving and improving brands customer experience through use of innovative, flexible and scalable technologies. Rene’ has worked with leading brands such as Molton Brown Cosmetics, AEG, Barclaycard, Orange, Visa, EAT, Qliktech and Escher Group. Arguably some of Rene’s key projects to date have been delivering the IT Strategy and infrastructure for the world renowned music and entertainment venue “The O2” as European IT Director for Anschutz Entertainment Group. Delivering the UK’s first fully integrated contactless payment solution with EAT as well as the UK’s first mobile and NFC enabled interactive smart poster with Orange (Everything, Everywhere) and EAT. Most recently Rene’ has been working with organizations such as Visa, Coffee Mob and most notably Escher Group who are leading the way with an end to end retail focused mobile loyalty solution incorporating NFC technology that delivers a one touch payment and loyalty experience for customers & merchants (www.bopzy.com). Rene’ is a key supporter of emerging technologies such as contactless payment and mobile loyalty and regularly gives key note speeches on these subjects to the Retail and Banking Industry. Rene’ has won numerous awards most notably the 2008 European Retail award for Payment Solutions for his work on contactless payment and followed this up with 3 awards for the 2009 & 2011 Contactless Intelligence Awards for contactless payment and Business Intelligence 2012 award.
